What Is the XPEL Tesla Referral Program?

XPEL and Tesla opened this booking channel in May 2025. You order film inside the Tesla app or the Tesla Shop, XPEL takes the order, and XPEL assigns the install to a certified shop near you. Enrollment is not automatic for XPEL dealers. Apex Films is one of the shops covering Fresno and the surrounding Central Valley.

The money moves through XPEL rather than through us, and your film warranty is registered with XPEL on the day of the install. If Tesla later replaces that glass under its own warranty, XPEL pays to put the film back on.

How the Program Works

01. Order XPEL film or PPF inside the Tesla app or Tesla Shop.

02. XPEL takes the order and routes it to Apex Films in Fresno.

03. You drop the car at our bay. Most jobs run one to two days.

04. You pay XPEL. Nothing is owed to us at pickup.

05. We file the warranty with XPEL before the car leaves.

Why Tesla Owners in Fresno Choose Apex Films

DAP Precut Tesla Patterns

Every panel comes off XPEL’s plotter, cut from the pattern for your exact car. That includes the Highland Model 3 and the Juniper Model Y. No knife touches your paint.

Warranty Filed With XPEL

We register the film with XPEL the day your car leaves. Ten years on Ultimate Plus and Stealth, four on Fusion Plus, lifetime on PRIME XR glass. XPEL holds that record, so it outlives us.

Signal-Safe Nano-Ceramic

PRIME XR PLUS carries no metal. It leaves the Autopilot cameras, GPS, and the LTE modem behind Sentry Mode alone.

Installed Here in Fresno

The work happens in our bay at 4344 E Ashlan Ave. You are not driving to the Bay Area and back for a film install.

PPF & Ceramic Packages for Every Tesla Model

Tesla paint is soft, and it shows on Pearl White Multi-Coat and Stealth Grey faster than most owners expect. These are the packages that actually come through our bay. All of them use XPEL Ultimate Plus in gloss or XPEL Stealth in satin, with a ten-year warranty from XPEL.

Model S

The long hood and low nose take the worst of Highway 99. Most Model S owners cover the front clip and stop there.

  • Front clip: full hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, mirror caps, A-pillars
  • Add rocker panels and rear wheel arches if you commute
  • Full body in Ultimate Plus or Stealth

Model 3 (including Highland refresh)

The 2024 Highland refresh changed the front fascia and the headlight cutouts, so the older patterns no longer fit. We cut both versions.

  • Front clip: hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, headlights
  • Rocker panels and rear arches, the usual pick for daily commuters
  • Full body with Fusion Plus ceramic layered over the film

Model X

Falcon Wing doors scuff along the painted seam where they track past the garage opening. Budget for door edges on this one.

  • Front clip with the door edges wrapped
  • Rocker panels plus coverage at the Falcon Wing hinges
  • Full body in Ultimate Plus or Stealth

Model Y (including Juniper refresh)

The Model Y is the car we see most. Juniper changed the bumpers and the roof glass in 2025, and our patterns cover both years.

  • Front clip, plus PRIME XR PLUS on the glass roof to pull heat out of the cabin
  • Rocker panels and a full windshield in 70% VLT PRIME XR PLUS, legal in California
  • Full body, Fusion Plus ceramic, and PRIME XR PLUS on every window

Cybertruck

Bare stainless scratches and holds fingerprints, and there is no clear coat to polish. Film is the only way to keep a panel original.

  • Bumper and fenders, the panels that take rock strikes
  • Full body in Ultimate Plus across the stainless
  • PRIME XR PLUS on the glass roof

The XPEL Films We Install on Tesla Vehicles

XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF

8 mil gloss film with a self-healing top coat, ten-year XPEL warranty. Light scratches close up in the sun or under warm water. This is what goes on most Pearl White and Ultra Red cars.

XPEL Stealth (Matte PPF)

Satin film, same 8 mil build and ten-year warranty. Turns gloss paint matte, or keeps a Stealth Grey car looking the way it left Fremont.

XPEL Fusion Plus Ceramic

9H ceramic coating, four-year paint warranty. Goes over bare paint or over PPF. Water sheets off it, and bug splatter and bird droppings stop etching the finish.

XPEL PRIME XR PLUS

Rejects up to 98% of infrared heat and 99% of UV, with a lifetime warranty. This is the film the Tesla Referral Program covers. Nano-ceramic, no metal, and Skin Cancer Foundation Recommended. Comes in a 70% VLT that is legal on a windshield in California.

XPEL PRIME XR

Nano-ceramic with a lifetime warranty, also covered under the Tesla Referral Program. A step below XR PLUS on heat rejection, and the one most owners land on for a full car.

Headlight Protection Film

Optically clear film with a ten-year warranty. Model 3 and Model Y headlight assemblies haze from rock strikes and yellow under Valley sun. A replacement pair runs past $1,000.

Tesla-Specific Installs at Apex Films

  • Glass roof tint. The full-length roof on the Model 3, Y, and S turns the cabin into a greenhouse in July. PRIME XR PLUS pulls cabin temps down noticeably, and California puts no VLT limit on a roof.
  • Windshield in 70% VLT. Clear ceramic across the whole windshield. You will not see it, and it still stops up to 98% of the infrared coming through.
  • Highland and Juniper patterns. XPEL reissues its pattern library within weeks of a Tesla refresh, and ours is current for both.
  • Cybertruck stainless. Full-body Ultimate Plus over the bare panels.
  • Frunk lip and door edges. These two spots wear first on almost every Tesla we see back after a year.

WHAT THE WARRANTY ACTUALLY COVERS

Tesla Glass Warranty Stays Intact

The install is done by a certified XPEL shop using precut patterns, so no blade goes near your glass or paint. Your Tesla vehicle warranty is unaffected.

XPEL Manufacturer Warranty Included

We register every install with XPEL directly. Ten years on Ultimate Plus and Stealth, four years on Fusion Plus ceramic, and a lifetime transferable warranty on PRIME XR window film.

Free Re-Install if Tesla Replaces Your Glass

If Tesla replaces a window under its own vehicle warranty, XPEL pays to reinstall the film. That is part of the Referral Program.

Tesla-Owner FAQ

Does XPEL tint void my Tesla warranty?
No. The install is done by a certified XPEL shop to XPEL’s spec, and your Tesla glass warranty is untouched by it. If Tesla replaces a window under its own warranty later, XPEL covers putting the film back on.
Why go to a certified installer instead of any tint shop?
Three things only a certified shop can do: file your warranty directly with XPEL, cut from XPEL’s precut pattern library so no knife goes near your paint, and take work through the Tesla Referral Program.
Do you have patterns for the Highland Model 3 and Juniper Model Y?
Yes. XPEL reissues its pattern library within a few weeks of any Tesla refresh. We have current cuts for the Highland front fascia and the Juniper bumpers and roof glass.
How do I order through the Tesla app?
Open the Tesla app, select your car, and look under Shop or Accessories for XPEL Paint Protection Film or Window Film. The order goes to XPEL, and XPEL sends it to us if you are in the Fresno area.
Can you put PPF on Cybertruck stainless?
Yes. Ultimate Plus bonds to the bare stainless and lays flat across the Cybertruck’s panels. It stops fingerprints, light scratching, and the etching that shows up on unprotected steel.
How dark can I legally tint a Tesla windshield in California?
California allows non-reflective film above the AS-1 line. For the full windshield we use PRIME XR PLUS at 70% VLT, which is legal statewide and still blocks up to 98% of infrared heat.
Will ceramic tint interfere with Autopilot or my signal?
No. PRIME XR PLUS and PRIME XR contain no metal. Autopilot cameras, radar, GPS, Bluetooth, and the LTE modem your car uses for Sentry Mode and updates all work normally.
What does PPF cost on a Model Y or Model 3?
It depends on coverage. A front clip is the most common job we quote. A full-body wrap in Ultimate Plus or Stealth costs considerably more. Call or text 559-215-8435 and we will price your car.
